Once finalized, the model was exported for further refinement and rendering, bringing the concept to life with a hyper-realistic finish
VARIATIONS
Different variations of the shoe design were created by experimenting with materials, colors, patterns, and structural elements
RESEARCH & DEVELOPMENT
The research and development phase was crucial for pushing creative limits and fine-tuning the final concept. While a significant portion of the exploration centered around balancing the rough textures of cracked concrete with the soft elegance of velour, we also explored other possibilities, testing concepts that moved beyond this duality. These experiments gave us the opportunity to challenge the original idea and make sure every element embodied Balenciaga's bold and innovative essence
The Balenciaga Cloudform was created in Gravity Sketch VR by starting with a rough shoe form, focusing on proportions and structure. Freeform subdivision modeling was used to shape the exaggerated, organic sole, achieving a fluid, cloud-like aesthetic. Dynamic stroke control and surface manipulation refined the details, creating smooth, inflated textures that mimic soft, sculptural formations. The VR environment enabled intuitive spatial adjustments, allowing for precise real-time modifications to the shoe’s curvature and volume
